Today, December 5, 20018 we said good bye to a beloved President George Herbert Walker Bush. I was really moved by what many said at his funeral in the Washington Cathedral in Washington D.C.

There are many items that we did not know about this many who guided the United States for 4 years including the fact that he guided us during the time of the end of the cold war. I hope you enjoy this video and a small look at the history of this man, son, father, grandfather, and great grandfather as well as serving our country in many facets including the office of President of our great country.

Joni and Friends - Volunteers

For the past twenty-five years, Heaven has inspired us to live well on earth even as we long for eternity. Drawing on Scripture, Joni Eareckson Tada answers the deepest questions of our hearts about what heaven will be like, who we will see there, and who we will be there.
This updated and expanded edition of Joni’s classic brings a new understanding of what heaven is, along with new mysteries and hopes. Now in her late 60s, Joni is much closer to heaven than she was when she first wrote the book in her mid 40s. And she says, “I will soon—soon!—hear His voice, look into His eyes, and feel His embrace. And He will say, ‘Welcome home, Joni.’” It is from this vantage point that Joni now speaks about how we can live for Jesus as we look forward to our real home.
At the end of each chapter in this updated book, Joni includes additional reflections that speak to where she is now, higher up on the hill of perspective. She calls these thoughts Climbing Higher, and that’s her invitation to all who make this journey with her.

19th Amendment - Women Get the Right to Vote

The 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution granted American women the right to vote, a right known as women’s suffrage, and was ratified on August 18, 1920, ending almost a century of protest. In 1848 the movement for women’s rights launched on a national level with the Seneca Falls Convention organized by Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott. Following the convention, the demand for the vote became a centerpiece of the women’s rights movement. Stanton and Mott, along with Susan B. Anthony and other activists, raised public awareness and lobbied the government to grant voting rights to women. After a lengthy battle, these groups finally emerged victorious with the passage of the 19th Amendment.

HEALTH INSURANCE HUSTLE

Americans pay insurance companies to make sure their medical needs are covered—and at a cost they can afford. But games, side deals and hidden incentives often result in higher costs, delays in care or denials of treatment.

Medellin Wrap-Up: 10 days in the City of Eternal Spring

In the digital nomad community, there seems just one destination that receives more buzz than any other in South America. That is Medellin, Colombia.
Despite the hype and praise, I was almost about to skip this city. It seemed a bit rough around the edges and from a distance, the nomad community seemed a bit of a boys club.
But, after discovering an inexpensive one-way flight from Panama City, I decided ‘why not?’ and after 10 days in the city of eternal spring, I’m glad I came down.

The following was written by Ziz Ziglar several years ago. President Trump might do well to read this little piece and then he might be able to work toward the goals he put forth in his s

Dear Friend,
No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, chances are you would agree that the leadership in our country — on both sides — is not as strong nor effective as we would prefer.
On more than one occasion I’ve heard friends and colleagues comparing our leaders today to the leaders of our past, looking for examples of what worked well.
Dad was a Margaret Thatcher fan. The job she did as Prime Minister of Great Britain was magnificent. She turned the economy around, helped restore pride and gave a sense of purpose and direction to her people.
Margaret Thatcher was a lady of unimpeachable credentials, including an iron will, and a strong moral foundation. Some of the things she said would serve us well today.
She said freedom does not include freedom from responsibility.
She believed there could be no freedom without a strong rule of law, "otherwise, there is freedom for the strong to oppress the weak."
Back in 1995, Mrs. Thatcher spoke in Searcy, Arkansas, to the students and faculty at Harding University. Someone asked her if the challenges facing the United States at that time were more economic or social.
She quickly replied, "It's moral."

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiest

Featuring more than 500 balloons, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is the world’s premier ballooning event. Why Albuquerque? Because of the mild October temperatures and a phenomenon known as the "Albuquerque box" (a set of predictable wind patterns that allows pilots to land close to their launch sites), this Southwestern city is the ideal spot for ballooning. The mass ascension takes place at Balloon Fiesta Park’s 78-acre launch field — the equivalent of 54 football fields.
