Education
The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is recognized as the leader for patient-centered education – continually developing high quality, professionally written, edited and reviewed educational pieces covering every level of kidney disease.
Advocacy

For more than 40 years, AAKP has been the patient voice – advocating for improved access to high-quality health care through regulatory and legislative reform at the federal level. The Association’s work has improved long term outcomes in both quality of health and the ability for patients and family members affected by kidney disease to lead a more productive and meaningful life.
Community

AAKP is leading the effort to bring kidney patients together to promote community, conversations and to seek out services that help maximize patients’ everyday lives.

America SCORES is a national youth development organization that works in under-resourced communities, partnering with urban schools to provide a free, high quality, team-based program that integrates soccer, poetry, and service learning. Because soccer is an international and inclusive sport we use it as a tool to develop fitness, sportsmanship and leadership skills among diverse students. We then bring the students, as teams, into the classroom to discover their creative voices using poetry, a universal form of art. Those transformational experiences build students’ confidence to use their individual and collective energies to bring about change in their communities through service-learning projects. .

The ACLU is our nation's guardian of liberty, working daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country.
These rights include:
  • Your First Amendment rights - freedom of speech, association and assembly; freedom of the press, and freedom of religion.
  • Your right to equal protection under the law - protection against unlawful discrimination.
  • Your right to due process - fair treatment by the government whenever the loss of your liberty or property is at stake.
  • Your right to privacy - freedom from unwarranted government intrusion into your personal and private affairs.
The ACLU also works to extend rights to segments of our population that have traditionally been denied their rights, including people of color; women; lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people; prisoners; and people with disabilities.
If the rights of society's most vulnerable members are denied, everybody's rights are imperiled. Support the ACLU today.

At the American Diabetes Association, we are dedicated to changing the future of diabetes by spearheading a national movement that invites people to help confront and fight diabetes. Our ultimate goal is to Stop Diabetes® — once and for all.

We cannot achieve this goal alone. Your dedication and passion are critical to strengthening our movement and realizing our mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Your involvement as an American Diabetes Association volunteer— whether on a local or national level — will help us expand our community outreach and impact, inspire healthy living, intensify our advocacy efforts, raise critical dollars to fund our mission, and uphold our reputation as the moving force and trusted leader in the diabetes community

St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf is committed to the auditory-oral education, spiritual and emotional growth, and personal development of hearing-impaired children and young adults, without discrimination, reflecting the values and traditions of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet.

One of the programs provided is IHear - Click here

IHear is an innovative program designed to bring listening and spoken language therapy services to families and children regardless of where they live or go to school. For many parents of children with hearing loss, these specialized therapy services are often not accessible due to distance or lack of qualified professionals in their community. IHear bridges the sound barrier to link families and therapists for live, interactive therapy sessions. Therapists identify practical activities to use at home to continue the learning process.

IHear services are provided through a high quality audio-visual connection and take place at designated times convenient to each child. The program is easy to access and use. High-speed DSL or broadband internet connections are required. Families owning a suitable computer will receive software and support necessary to establish tele-conference links. If no computer is available, families may elect to participate in our "Computer Loaner Club."
